Most cults are notoriously bad, but I actually found one I can get behind! I was lucky enough to work on a Cult of Cashmere commercial shoot for Naadam. They are a great company, with clean energy-powered manufacturing, no toxic chemicals and a commitment to carbon footprint reduction. They also pay the nomadic herders an incredibly fair price, all while investing in breeding and vaccination programs for healthier goats.
As someone who is newly vegan, it was also awesome to hear that they use the old-school Hand Combing technique for collecting fibers, which is the only true cruelty-free way to make cashmere.
The best part? I got to keep the fancy cashmere robe we had to wear for the shoot.
